Hi, I’m Christopher P Jones, a writer on art focused on art history through artist biographies, visual analysis, and storytelling. I’m the author of the popular art books How to Read Paintings and Great Paintings Explained. This channel explores the lives and work of famous artists, from the Renaissance to modern and contemporary art. Expect artist analysis, art movements explained, and deep dives into painting, sculpture, and visual culture, including impressionism, surrealism, and cubism. With an MA in art history, I examine how artists’ lives shape their work, alongside themes of symbolism, iconography, and art theory. These documentary-style videos combine cultural history with close looking. Subscribe for art history explained, artist biographies, and engaging art education.
