Privacy Policy

Verbatext (“we”, “us”) is a transcription service operated by CastFox. This policy explains what we collect when you use verbatext.io, why, and the choices you have. We try to collect only what we need to run the service.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, or the basic profile from Google if you sign in with Google.
• Your uploads: the audio and video files you submit, and the transcripts, summaries and other text we generate from them.
• Payment details: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Usage data: basic analytics (pages visited, rough location, device and browser) via Google Analytics, plus standard server logs.

How we use it

• To transcribe your files and produce the text, summaries and insights you asked for.
• To run your account, process payments and track your credit balance.
• To support you, fix problems and improve the service.

Service providers

We share data with a small number of processors only to the extent needed to run Verbatext: Supabase (account data and file storage), transcription providers (OpenAI and Groq) which receive your audio to generate text, Stripe (payments), and Google (sign-in and analytics). Each receives only what it needs for its task.

Your content is private by default

Every transcript is private to your account unless you choose to make it public with a share link. A public transcript can be viewed by anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. You can make it private again at any time.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your transcripts from your dashboard. To delete your account and the data associated with it, contact us at the address below.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your personal data. Email support@verbatext.io and we will help.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will revise the date above when we do.
