SOUNZ | Toi te Arapūoru champions the music of Aotearoa New Zealand. SOUNZ has a constantly growing collection of over 24,000 New Zealand music resources. We represent the music of around 600 composers from Aotearoa New Zealand in the following areas: - classical composition - taonga puoro (traditional Māori instruments) - works by Māori composers - electroacoustic music - jazz - screen composition - sonic art Since 2013 SOUNZ has comprehensively documented film performances of music by New Zealand composers, often with audio provided by Radio New Zealand Concert. Concerts and documentary materials are captured, edited and released by filmmaker, Chris Watson, with support from the wider SOUNZ team.
