What Sid Caesar: Your Show of Shows / Caesar's Hour / Admiral Broadway Revue makes

Topics sid caesar, comedy, sketch, classic television, tv history

The most comprehensive archive of Sid Caesar’s groundbreaking sketch comedy from the late 1940s and 1950s available online-- carefully restored, curated, and contextualized. Many of these sketches haven’t been accessible to the public in over 25 years, and some were never officially released at all. This channel began as a place to share material from Sid's own official DVD releases*, because after his death, those out-of-print DVDs were being price gouged in the resale market by ghouls for literally thousands of dollars. I just wanted people to have access to this material. But this channel grew into something more ambitious and important: a long-term preservation project, with too many vital contributions to name here. Please share the videos in any way you see fit, and help preserve the legacy of one of TV comedy's towering giants. ----------- * Note that all of this material, like virtually all kinescopes of early live TV, is in the public domain.
