Through Japanese culture, craftsmanship, aesthetics, gardens, architecture, art and everyday life, she meets craftspeople and artists, visits places shaped by history and culture, and reflects on what they can teach us about beauty, time, attention and the way we live today. After many years in London, Satomi began to see Japan from a different perspective. Her films combine travel, research, interviews and personal reflection. Her long-term aim is to create physical spaces where the ideas explored in her films can be experienced through art, craft and culture.
