I didn’t learn about addiction only from textbooks. I spent the first half of my life getting personal experience and the second half turning that into professional expertise. So I understand addiction from both sides—the person struggling and the people who love them. My approach is practical, strategic, and intentionally hopeful. I don’t believe shame, punishment, fear, or waiting for “rock bottom” are the best tools for change. I believe in understanding behavior, working with strengths, reinforcing progress, and using psychology strategically.
