Operation Sicily

What Operation Sicily makes

Topics renovation, italy, expat, sicily, villa

I bought an abandoned villa in Sicily that everyone else gave up on. Operation Sicily documents the real, unfiltered journey of restoring a neglected Sicilian villa from ruin to reality. No shortcuts, no fake timelines, no staged results - just hands-on renovation, problem solving, setbacks, and learning the hard way. Follow weekly as I take on structural repairs, off-grid systems, utilities, and long-forgotten buildings, while navigating Italian property, rural living, and life as a British expat in Sicily. I also share real costs, key decisions, and lessons learned when investing and renovating abroad. New main renovation episodes every Sunday, plus midweek updates, deeper insights, and real-world progress as the project evolves. 📦 Send mail / support: Jonathan Smith REF: Operation Sicily c/o Mail Boxes Etc. 118 Via Giuseppe Mazzini 89 91025 Marsala (TP) Italy (Include your name if you'd like a shoutout) Business enquiries: [email hidden]
