全台各地的親子共學團，六年來關心教育和兒童人權，同時參與街頭的倡議訴求，因為每個孩子的教育和家庭的幸福與否，亦處於台灣社會的脈動中，無法自外於環境、勞工、人權等各個公領域的議題。 參與倡議的同時，更多的機會瞭解了，無法企求於地方政治的生態和運作，去改變台灣；甚而認識到，政客本身就是污染、作賤台灣土地和人民的禍首。依著親子共學團本來就關心和參與的各項公共事務和議題，監督政府和議員，2016年底開始醞釀：不如，直接爭取這個任務的角色，參與全台各地的議員選舉！ 接著，由領隊們，將這個訊息帶回各地共學團內，號召原本就在關心公園改造、親子友善空間、和空污問題的媽媽們，來組成候選與輔選團隊，經過幾回全台政治工作坊的討論和激盪，各地的共學團成員參與之外，也有非共學團成員的盟友，加入候選和輔選團隊！ 是為歐巴桑聯盟！
