Welcome to my channel. I’m Caroline Strawson & I survived domestic abuse & coercive control at the hands of a covert narcissist. I didn’t know I’d been in an abusive relationship because there were no visible bruises but invisible doesn’t mean imagined. I was at rock bottom. CPTSD, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, self harm. Non alcoholic fatty liver disease, IBS, metabolic syndrome, chronic fatigue. Eleven diagnoses. Let down by a medical system that never once asked what I’d lived through. I could have trained as a psychologist, but talking about my experiences didn’t help me process them. Trauma lives in the body. Physiology overrides psychology, every single time. So I retrained in somatic based modalities, including Somatic Experiencing, IFS and EMDR, alongside a postgraduate certificate in applied positive psychology. This channel is here to help you build nervous system capacity to cope in the presence of stress and pressure, not waiting for the absence of it.
