Born in Cali, Colombia and raised in Madrid, Spain, LUPE FUENTES found her sound in the underground clubs of a city that runs all night — Latin percussion, tribal house, deep basslines. She launched her DJ career in 2013 and drew the mentorship of house royalty: Grammy-winning Roger Sanchez, Junior Sanchez, and Todd Terry. Her debut single "So High" landed on Brobot Records in 2014 — the same year she founded IN THE LOOP Recordings, a 100% independent imprint now 100+ releases deep, with Kerri Chandler, Todd Terry, and emerging voices worldwide. She collaborated with Darryl "DMC" McDaniels of Run-DMC on "Get Down," and in 2023 relaunched IN THE LOOP 2.0 alongside her monthly Rinse FM residency, Lupe Fuentes Presents: In The Loop. Now rooted in Miami, her sound is in its most mature chapter: tech house precision meeting jazz harmony, Latin warmth, gospel spirit, and disco groove. "Where the Underground Meets the Soul" is not a tagline. It's what happens every time she plays.
