What Language Documentation & Archiving makes

Topics language documentation, endangered languages, indigenous cultures, archiving, community engagement

Conference and training sessions, Berlin & Online, "Language Documentation and Archiving during the Decade of Indigenous Languages" This conference brings together communities, students, researchers and activists who are documenting endangered languages. Many lessons have been learnt in the last 20 years of documentation and archiving, and all over the world activists, communities, researchers, and artists have developed documentation projects, apps, art installations, archival collections, films, and multimedia projects telling the many stories of indigenous languages and their creators and keepers. After our inaugural 2022 conference, we are returning in 2024 and again in 2026 with another great programme of speakers and workshops! We hope you enjoy the presentations from all years, here on the YouTube channel. The conference is organised jointly by PARADISEC (Pacific and Regional Archive for Digital Sources in Endangered Cultures) and ELAR (Endangered Languages Archive).
