Katie Porter is running for Governor because she understands the challenges Californians face in a way most career politicians don't. As a consumer protection attorney, law professor, and watchdog over the Big Banks, she has dedicated her career to standing up for California families. Through committee hearings, she’s used her signature whiteboard to ask tough questions of CEOs and get answers from administration officials. In Congress, Katie passed bills to stop corporate cheaters and held the Trump Administration accountable for hurting our state. She wrote new laws that crack down on health insurers wrongfully denying care and save patients thousands of dollars from Big Pharma’s unreasonable price hikes. As a single mom of three school-aged children, she uniquely understands the challenges Californians face and is dedicated to fighting to protect the rights of workers and make California more affordable for their families.
