Ilan Eshkeri is a composer whose work centres on the expression of emotional narrative through evolving musical forms. His compositions are crafted from melodies that shift perspective through harmonic and rhythmic layering, allowing emotional states to evolve. Classically trained on violin and a self-taught electric guitarist, his synaesthesia, through which sound and colour are perceived together, informs his aesthetic. His work spans live performance, theatre, ballet, film, television and video games, with works presented at the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, the Tuileries Gardens of the Louvre and New York City Center. His screen and interactive work includes Layer Cake, Stardust, Coriolanus and The Sims. His approach extends into songwriting, lyrics and production with artists including Coldplay, Muse, David Gilmour, Annie Lennox and Take That. His work has been recognised in the Emmy, BAFTA and Ivor Novello Awards.
