The Federal Election Commission (FEC) is an independent regulatory agency established in 1975 to administer and enforce the Federal Election Campaign Act. That statute limits the sources and amounts of the contributions used to finance federal elections and requires public disclosure of campaign finance information. These videos address aspects of federal campaign finance law. They are not intended to replace the law or to change its meaning, nor do these videos create or confer any rights for or on any person or bind the Federal Election Commission (Commission) or the public. The viewer is encouraged to consult the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended (2 U.S.C. §431 et seq.), Commission regulations (Title 11 of the Code of Federal Regulations), Commission advisory opinions, and applicable court decisions. For more information, visit www.fec.gov. The videos on this channel were produced and disseminated at U.S. taxpayer expense.
