Ven Dr Madawela Punnaji Maha Thera's life-long mission was to uncover and share the original teachings of the Buddha. His discoveries made him realize the Buddha's teachings is a timeless psychological methodology of growth and evolution of the human consciousness. Being a medical doctor before his monkhood, and having obtained two doctorate degrees (in Psychology, and in Philosophy-Comparative Religion) since monkhood, combined with his deep knowledge of the Pali language and his impeccable command of the English language, Bhante Punnaji expounded from his deep research and personal experience instead of merely repeating what one reads in books and scriptures, and offered precise, pellucid, and intelligible translations of the Pali Canon of what the Buddha originally taught. The videos in this channel are largely the collection of countless sutta classes, dhamma talks, and meditation retreats he conducted in Malaysia, mostly recorded & produced by his closest student Bro Billy Tan.
