Bill Vicars is Deaf. He has been married for many years to Bee Vicars, MFA, who is also Deaf. They have several children, one of whom is Deaf (hh). Dr. Bill is a former full-time, tenured, full-professor, and researcher at Sacramento State University where he served as coordinator of the American Sign Language and Deaf Studies bachelor degree program. He also served as the leader of a Deaf congregation for many years. He holds an earned doctorate in Deaf Studies and a masters in Deaf Education from Lamar University in Texas (accredited) -- and has over 30 years of experience teaching ASL Linguistics, Deaf Culture, Interpreting, and related topics in a wide variety of settings including internationally (Singapore, Guyana, etc.), in-person, and online.
