Ahimsa Conversations

What Ahimsa Conversations makes

Topics nonviolence, activism, peace, social justice, political action

Ahimsa Conversations is a platform for reflections on the possibility of nonviolence and the nature of violence. This platform, created and curated by Rajni Bakshi, explores how nonviolence is actionable and effective -- as a way of life and as a method of political action. The dynamic between violence and nonviolence is a perennial concern of our species and some conversations reflect that long arc of history. But the focus is on the present moment – a time when anger and hatred seem to proliferate and polarize people, even within families. Ahimsa Conversations includes voices of those actively working with nonviolence as well as those whose experience in varied fields throws light on its promise and challenges. Rajni Bakshi is a journalist and an author of three major books and various monographs. She has written for leading English and Hindi newspapers and magazines for over 40 years. Her book 'Bazaars, Conversations and Freedom' won the Vodafone-Crossword non-fiction award.
